Children’s Liturgical Choir
The SJCS Liturgical Choir is a group of committed students in grades 2nd – 8th who lead the school in song at the weekly school Masses and perform at special events. Members sing a variety of uplifting music offered in the spirit of prayer. Participating in choir helps children build confidence and achieve personal growth. COMMITMENT, GROWTH & ATTENDANCE
Participating in choir will help your child build confidence and learn the value of dedication and teamwork. Every student is an important member of the choir and each one has the responsibility to attend rehearsals and scheduled performances. Weekly practice attendance is integral for members to learn music, practice harmonies, and build trust. Accordingly, commitment is critical for a successful group.
CODE OF CONDUCT
Choir members are expected to demonstrate a high level of self-discipline and maturity. All students need to be courteous, polite, and respectful of each other and adults who work with them.
Choir practice takes place on Tuesdays after school in room MS-2 (Middle School Building, Mrs. Ochinero’s Classroom) from 3:15PM – 4:15PM. Pickup is just outside the middle school door that faces the cobblestones. Please walk up with your carpool sign to ensure a safe pick up. Students must be picked up at 4:15PM, otherwise they will be placed in the After School Program and applicable rates and fees will be assessed. If your child is registered for the ASP and is to be scanned into the program at the conclusion of Choir practice, please inform the director.
