Preschool Program

Our Preschool embraces play-based learning organized by unit themes. Intentionally-designed centers encourage exploration, imagination, discovery, and collaboration with opportunities that focus on the five early-learning development domains: language, social, physical, cognitive and social-emotional, respectively. Our certified faculty and low student-teacher ratio allows instruction to be tailored and differentiated to meet each child’s needs. Balanced with scholastic initiatives, our curriculum includes opportunities to nurture fine and gross motor skills providing a solid foundation for years to come. Panther Cubs are also enriched with PE, Music, Art, and Spanish class, as well as introduced to the liturgical calendar and elements of the Catholic religion in an age-appropriate manner.

Our program welcomes children who are three and a half years old and fully potty trained by February 1st to enter our PK3-1/2 class, and those who are four years old by September 1st for our PK4 program. Please note that SJCS operates as a preschool program rather than a daycare facility. As such, our program adheres to the SJCS school calendar, including its attendance policies. Students are expected to follow the established school arrival and dismissal times, with the instructional day beginning promptly at 7:50 AM and dismissal at 3:15pm.

In order to give busy SJCS families a little extra flexibility and peace of mind, SJCS Preschool also provides a safe, fun, and welcoming place for our Panther Cubs before or after the school day.
