Terra Nova

Grades 2nd - 8th

TerraNova, Third Edition (TN3) is a norm referenced assessment built with the highest quality and industry best standards for a technically sound test. TN3 uses passages, test items, and integrated themes that contain interesting topics for students.  All questions were field tested and passed thorough technical review to ensure reliability and validity.  TN3 used industry best practices and universal test design to ensure that the assessment avoids bias for culturally diverse students.

TerraNova tests are administered to grades 2nd – 8th at St. James Cathedral School in the spring. TN3 tests cover the areas of Reading/Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies.  These standardized tests provide norm-referenced, criterion-referenced, and performance level (or proficiency level) data (www.terranova3.com).

Terra Nova, Third Edition (TN3) affords administrators and educators the opportunity to:

– Monitor student growth using a continuous, researched-based, vertical scale to accurately measure academic progress
– Evaluate student mastery of next-generation skills and rigorous learning standards
– Inform decisions about a student’s learning and enhancing instructional practices
